Langhorne Slim Live Acoustic Session

Langhorne Slim is an american singer-songwriter who released his first record back in 2004. Thirteen years later, he’s back with a new one that might be our favourite yet. If you don’t know his music, we’d highly recommend listening to his beautiful songs on „Be Set Free“ or „The Way We Move“ – which he recorded with his band „The Law“ – or just his new one. It’s entitled „Lost at Last, Vol. 1“ and was released early November. Paste Magazine describes Slims voice on the record as „pure, distinctly American, but without region, a twangy yodel always waiting at the back of his throat. It can go from a whisper to a raspy holler, but always remains trustworthy“. We absolutely agree.

First Sessions in 2013

Cardinal Sessions‘ and Slim’s paths crossed first in 2013 – he was on tour with The Lumineers and we stopped him in Cologne to perform three songs in the freezing cold. It was a wonderful day and the songs we shot – „The Way We Move„, „Bad Luck„ and „Someday„ – had a fantastic, happy vibe. We still get back to those songs once in a while. These musicians were playing their hearts out. It was a great experience to witness this and capture it on camera.

Now, four years later, director Joel Sadler shot a couple of videos with Slim and his band. The incredibly talented singer Casey Jane is singing the second voice. One of these is „Lost This Time„, shot in New Orleans, Louisiana on a porch in the sun, filmed from inside an apartment.
