PETER DOHERTY LIVE ACOUSTIC SESSION

RECORDED IN COLOGNE, GERMANY, FEBRUARY 22, 2017

„Is it cruel or kind not to speak my mind, and to lie to you, rather than hurt you?“

It’s been years of trying to record a session with Peter, who touched us with brillant records for over 15 years now – starting with The Libertines, not being any less interesting with Babyshambles, now recording solo with a band called „The Puta Madres“ – he is one of the few real rock stars this century has to offer.

In february of 2017, we finally met Peter, hanging out backstage before his gig in Cologne. We asked for a song, he played for almost half an hour, starting with the classics „Music When The Lights Go Out“ and „Albion“, singing „Hired Gun“, walking to another room, singing „I Don’t Love Anyone (But You’re Not Just Anyone)“ and then performing a hilarious cover of „Proud Mary“ with the whole gang. The diversity of his perfomances, from really intimate and fragile to loud and funny, shows his range as a musician.
